The Parastatals are:

The
Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET)

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria
(FAAN)
The Federal Airports
Authority of Nigeria (FAAN): maintains and manages the 22 Airports
in the country on behalf of the Federal Government who is the owner
of these facilities. It is by far the most visible Arm of the
Ministry because of its management of the Airports. It is led by a
Managing Director and supported by five Directors.
The Federal airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) was established in
August 1995 to carry out the functions of two erstwhile
organizations The Nigerian Airports Authority (NAA) and Federal
Civil Aviation Authority (FCAA). These two organizations which
metamorphosed into FAAN were once more demerged in 1999 not because
its functions were too large to be managed by one organization but
mainly because professionals in the industry were of the opinion
that the order of the day called for specialization of functions,
not generalization, at Vision 2010 Forum. Also, the need to operate
in conformity with ICAO calls for the demerger.
The Federal Government resolve therefore to reposition the sector in
the new Millennium, the need to separate regulatory bodies from
service providers and avoid confusion in the Industry were the major
points in the restructuring exercise.
